Dear Delegates,

We, Lakshita Arora and Advita Tiwari, are delighted to welcome each one of you to Shishukunj MUN 2026–2027. It is both an honour and a privilege to serve as the Under-Secretaries General for the Indian Committees in the 11th edition of Shishukunj MUN.

The Indian Committees stand as one of the most dynamic and intellectually demanding simulations in any MUN. Rooted in the principles of democracy and constitutional governance, these committees replicate the functioning of India's legislative and executive institutions. Here, every debate has consequences, every motion carries significance, and every voice has the potential to influence the course of discussion.

As the cornerstone of India's democratic framework, these committees are entrusted with the responsibility of debating, formulating, and implementing policies that shape the nation's future. Delegates are expected to navigate political complexities, build consensus across ideological divides, and respond to pressing domestic and international challenges while upholding the principles of democracy, accountability, and the Constitution of India. Whether scrutinising legislation, framing executive decisions, or addressing crises of national importance, the Indian Committees offer an immersive platform to experience the responsibilities and intricacies of governing the world's largest democracy.

We encourage each one of you to question fearlessly, argue respectfully, negotiate wisely, and remember that the finest delegates are not always those who speak the most, but those who listen with intent and lead with conviction.

As former delegates ourselves, we understand the excitement, the anticipation, and perhaps even the nervousness that accompanies stepping into committee. There will be moments of intense debate, unexpected crises, and challenging negotiations. Embrace them all, for these moments are where growth truly begins.

Throughout this conference, we hope you will look beyond awards and rankings. Let your goal be to learn, to collaborate, and to leave the committee more informed than when you entered it. Every speech you deliver, every alliance you build, and every resolution you draft contributes to an experience that extends far beyond the conference room.

We firmly believe that meaningful change begins with informed conversations, respectful disagreement, and the courage to challenge conventional thinking. That is precisely what we hope each one of you takes away from this year's conference.
