Letter from Chairperson
Greetings Delegates,
I, Vishesh Dagra, will be serving as the chairperson of the United Nations Security Council at the
Shishukunj International School Model United Nations Conference 2026. I feel delighted to welcome
you all to this committee on behalf of the entire bureau.
This year’s Security Council revolves around the agenda “Structuring the United Nations Security
Council”, with a freeze date of 22 August, 1944. This session of the UNSC will be full of surprises and
will keep you on your toes and ready for action. The committee is a crisis committee, thus it will
require all delegates to work even harder than a regular GA or ECOSOC committee. Immense
research, knowledge of the agenda and quick and analytical thinking will pave the way to your
success and enable you to do justice to this important agenda. I expect to see controversial debates,
immersive discussions, well-thought ideas, creative speeches and comprehensive documentation;
but most importantly, I expect all delegates to learn something new from these three days.
With even just one experience of Shishukunj MUN, you will realise that it is not about the awards. It
is about learning, meeting your fellow students in a different form, talking to students of your own
school you never thought you would, and maybe on the way, finding a family within the people you
share this experience with. Whether it is your first MUN or your last, I encourage each of you to seize
the upcoming conference to its fullest potential.
I can guarantee to you that no doubts or questions of yours will go unanswered, however silly they
may seem. Feel free to reach out to me, or your Vice Chairperson in case of any queries regarding
the ROP or the Agenda, or if you simply want to engage in a conversation about anything ranging
from geopolitics to physics. Prepare well and buckle up for an exhilarating MUN filled with fiery

Agenda Description
The committee convenes on August 22, 1944, the second day of the Dumbarton Oaks Conference, where the United States, the United Kingdom, and the Soviet Union are negotiating the architecture of a proposed post-war security organisation. The war is still being fought. The United Nations does not exist. Nothing has been decided. Permanent membership, veto powers, voting procedures, military enforcement, and the place of Axis states in the new order all remain unresolved. Our representatives are tasked with building a body capable of solving problems, enforcing decisions, and rebuilding stability.
