United Nations Children’s Funds

Namaste,
My name is Atharv Verma, and it is an absolute honour to welcome you to the United Nations
Children’s Fund committee at the 11th iteration of the Shishukunj Model United Nations. I am a
Grade XII student, and serving as your Chairperson is one of the most exciting opportunities I
have taken on so far.
If you want to understand me, know this: I am a football addict. Manchester United is not just a
club to me, it’s a belief, and Bruno Fernandes is someone I deeply admire. Beyond football, I
also have a strong appreciation for music, tennis, and shows like The Mentalist which remind
me of the importance of understanding the room you’re in.
In recent years, I’ve been drawn to the universe and aspire to become an astrophysicist. The
idea of something far greater existing is both exciting and scary. I live by a simple belief: “The
good days are coming.” with quiet conviction that effort and preparation pays off and things
simply do work out eventually.
MUN’s have been like an enjoyment to me and I assure you this committee will challenge and
engage you. Please remember that you can always approach me or the Executive Board , no
question is too small or insignificant , we are here to help you grow.
So gear up, prepare well, and research your portfolios thoroughly. I am genuinely excited to see
what each of you brings to this committee. Let’s make this year’s UNICEF one of the best
committees of all time.
