Namaste Dear Delegate!
It is with immense pleasure that I would like to welcome you all on behalf of my entire
bureau to the 11th iteration of the Shishukunj Model United Nations.
I am Ishita Bagree, an 11th grader who loves rom-coms, acting, listening to her favorite
songs on repeat and gossiping. I have participated in MUNs since 7th grade and I can
assure you that Shishukunj MUN is a game-changer. I have experienced stage fright for
as long as I can remember, but Shishukunj MUN transformed me into the confident
person I am today and I really hope it transforms each and every one of you as well. I
believe in giving it my all when I am involved in a particular project and that’s what I
expect from all of you: to come prepared and with an open mind. Research thoroughly,
but come with a spirit of collaboration and a willingness to engage in constructive
discussion.
This year’s UNHSP is going to take a different take on the idea of unplanned urban
growth and its impact on the vulnerable population and nation as a whole and on
behalf of the bureau, I can assure you, you are going to have a blast. You will not only
learn how to overcome your fears but also leave the room with meaningful friendships,
unforgettable memories and new experiences which will shape your future. I was also
once in your position and I understand how stressful MUNs can be sometimes but
remember the bureau is always there for you and is ready to help you. As you prepare
for the conference, don't be afraid to ask questions, think creatively and enjoy the
journey along the way.
I hope you all come out of this year’s MUN conference filled with knowledge and an
entirely different idea about the consequences of unplanned urban growth and how they
can be prevented. I firmly instill my belief in all the delegates that they will do their best
in making this committee of UNHSP successful this year. Your thoughts and
contributions to the committee are invaluable and help in shaping the committee's flow
and its success also depends on your hands.
