Dear delegates,
It brings us great pleasure to extend a warm welcome to you all at the 11th iteration of
the Shishukunj Model United Nations. We, Aryan More and Ishita Ira, are privileged to
take on the role of chairpersons for the International Labour Organisation (ILO).
From starting our journey as an inexperienced delegate to now serving as the chairperson
of ILO, the Shishukunj MUN has given us a chance to perfect ourselves in several skills
which we hope we can do for you all this year as well. In times of conflict, protecting
livelihoods becomes essential. Workers deserve safe conditions, fair compensation, and
opportunities to rebuild their futures. By prioritizing dignity, work, and equal opportunity,
we can restore stability, reduce hardship, and create a pathway toward inclusive economic
recovery for communities devastated by conflict.
The agenda, “Ensuring Worker Safety, Fair Wages, and Employment Opportunities with
Special Emphasis on Job Loss Amidst Conflict Regions,” will provide you, as future
leaders, with the opportunity to understand the critical role of the International Labour
Organization in protecting workers’ rights, promoting decent work, and supporting
economic recovery in communities affected by conflict. Through this committee, you will
explore how international cooperation can help restore livelihoods, ensure fair treatment
of workers, and create sustainable employment opportunities for those who have lost
their means of income due to instability and displacement. We hope all delegates will
take this as a scope to come forward with well-formulated research on all subtopics as
well as the agenda and original and creative solutions for the committee. Looking
